Marvel Divas - The way I'd read it
So Emma Frost is at the X-Mansion, happens to see Rachel Grey, goes to talk to her... Rachel is all "What do you want?", so Emma makes a Jean quip and goes on her way, as is her wont.
In the Baxter Building, Sue has just put down the best mystery novel she's read in months and wants to talk to someone about it, but Reed is doing an experiment, Ben is on a date with Alicia, and Johnny is... Johnny.
In New York, Jennifer Walters wants to go shopping to replace some shredded wardrobe items, but Jan is dead and the Avengers are a bunch of A-holes. She looks at Avengers Tower before continuing on her way.
Elsewhere in New York, Black Cat steals a diamond necklace and gets away scot-free, then looks around, depressed to realize no one is chasing her.
Then the Mole Man attacks. All four ladies happen to be first on the scene to fight back. Afterward, they look at each other.
"Hey, anyone thirsty? There's a coffee place down the road."
I kinda like the idea of four friends from the major Marvel "universes" (X-Men, FF, Avengers, and Spider-Man) who cross-over to banter and kick ass. Other women could join up as required, maybe get a Runaway or Young Avenger in there, a SHIELD agent like the Contessa, or whatever.
Mainly, I just want to hear Emma tell Susan "God, could you not rub the fact that you've spawned in our collective face at every opportunity? Not every situation requires an anecdote from your overstimulated maternal instinct." And for them to try to set Black Cat up with Peter. And Mary-Jane could get invited when they all think she's Jackpot. Solid gold, baby. And special guest star Tony Stark (cross-dressing for great justice? You decide! Vote at Marvel dot com in the mighty Marvel manner!).

So it'd be an endorsement for other titles ("What, Ben Reilly is back and Black Cat slept with him!? This I gotta see!") while still being self-contained and not requiring you to buy ten books just to know what's going on.
