Have been watching Eureka

Thinking of writing a story where Barbara Gordon recruits Jo for the BOP. Would probably be worth it just for the scene where Dick says "But, Babs, Bruce doesn't like guns" and Jo laughs and laughs and laughs because who doesn't like guns?

ETA: And Barbara could spot Jo when she pumps iron because Babs loves to watch the pretty girls sweat. Almost as much as she likes sending flowers to them and keeping detailed files of them in her secret lair.

More hate for The International

Okay, if you've seen that ONE TRAILER FOR THE INTERNATIONAL THAT IS UNSPEAKABLY MILQUETOAST YET PLAYS IN FRONT OF EVERYTHING (hey, production companies, how about putting a little of that advertising dollars into staging more than one action sequence?), you see Clive Owen telling Naomi Watts "Life is knowing which bridges to cross and which to burn. I'm the one you burn."

Okay, see, that makes no sense! 'Burning bridges' means that you've ALREADY crossed a bridge and you're going to burn it so you can't go back. If you quit your job and told your boss you'd slept with his or her wife, so you couldn't get your old job back under any circumstances, that would have been a bridge you burnt. But by definition, you crossed the bridge of quitting your job.

I have no idea what that quote means. Even the more understandable "Life is knowing which bridges to burn and which not to burn. I'm the one you burn" doesn't make much sense. And this is the writing they showed IN THE TRAILER! They got the guy with one of the ten coolest accents in the world to read this line to an Oscar-nominated actress and it went through.
