Let me share with you a... revelation I've had...

selenak asked the question "which actor, past or present, would you want to see as the Doctor?" And it took me this long to realize... Kurt Russell.
You want Oncoming Storm? Snake Plisken. You wanna wacky Doctor shenanigans? Jack Burton. In fact, Big Trouble In Little China is pretty much an American Doctor Who, only with the TARDIS replaced by a big rig called the Pork Chop Express because AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!
Also, if you have not seen Tango & Cash, you will die unfulfilled. What other movie have you seen where Kurt Russell cross-dresses to pretend to be the lesbian lover of Sylvester Stallone's sister? And a high-five is treated with as many false starts as the first kiss in a romantic comedy? And more homoeroticism than your average Rocky sequel! Basically, it's what would happen if you found a 12-year-old on a sugar rush who'd just spent the afternoon playing Spy Hunter and Contra, then told them to write a movie for Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell to star in. That is to say, FORTIFIED WITH TWELVE ESSENTIAL AWESOMES!
